Moto G Max 5G Price: 200MP OIS Camera and Full Specifications

Motorola has launched the Moto G Max 5G in Brazil, focusing on camera quality and durability for an upper mid-range phone. It costs BRL 2,519.10, or about Rs. 47,000, and is available in Azul Claro (light blue) and Graphite on Motorola’s online store in Brazil. There is no announcement yet for India.
It has a 6.8-inch 1.5K Super HD AMOLED screen with 5,000-nit peak brightness, a 200MP main camera with OIS at f/1.8, and triple IP protection (IP66, IP68, IP69). It's also MIL-STD-810H durable, runs Android 16 with Hello UI, and has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage on a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chip.
Here is a list of the Moto G Max 5G's features, such as its 200MP OIS camera, its 5,000 nits of outdoor brightness, and what it means to have triple IP certification for waterproofing.

Moto G Max 5G Price and Availability

There is a price difference of BRL 2,519.10, or about Rs. 47,000. India hasn't said anything about the phone or its launch date yet, so this isn't the official price. India's prices may differ due to taxes and market conditions. On Motorola's online store in Brazil, you can get the phone in Graphite and Azul Claro (light blue).
Note: The price of Rs. 47,000 is based on the current exchange rate and is subject to change for India. If Motorola India does release the Moto G Max 5G, the price will depend on how the market there is doing. For news, check Motorola India's main channels.

Display: 1.5K AMOLED at 5,000 Nits and 120Hz

The Moto G Max 5G has a 6.8-inch 1.5K Super HD AMOLED display with a resolution of 1272 by 2772 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness. Its 1.5K resolution sits between Full HD Plus and 2K, giving about 445 PPI, which is sharper than FHD Plus at this size. Motorola calls this Super HD, similar to what OnePlus and Vivo use for the same resolution tier.
The screen's 5,000-nit peak brightness is its best feature; it's one of the brightest in this price range. This level is only briefly reached outside in bright light, not inside. Unlike many 1,000- to 2,000-nit screens, this one stays clear, and colors look bright even when it's not as bright outside. Gorilla Glass 7i protects the screen and can handle drops better than older models.
When you put 1.5K pixels on a 6.8-inch screen, you get about 445 PPI, while FHD Plus pixels at the same size give you 395–400 PPI. This makes text clearer, the edges of photos sharper, and UI elements more detailed. There is a clear difference when reading, taking pictures, and playing games.
In direct sunlight, the phone can only reach 5,000 nits for short periods. When used outside, the brightness is generally between 800 and 1,500 nits, which is still great for seeing. The peak brightness of 5,000 nits helps the screen be read in any light.

Moto G Max 5G Camera: 200MP OIS Primary at f/1.8

The Moto G Max 5G’s standout feature is its 200MP camera with OIS at f/1.8, which is unusual for a mid-range phone. Most phones in this range use fixed-focus or electronic stabilization because OIS on a 200MP sensor is more complex and expensive. The wide f/1.8 aperture lets in more light, which helps with low-light photos where high-megapixel sensors often have trouble.
The 200MP camera can capture a lot of detail, which means it can be used to make large prints or cut up. Pixel binning is usually used to produce 12.5MP or 50MP images, which improve performance in low light. Digital cameras with 10x zoom keep more information than cameras with fewer pixels at the same zoom level.
The 8MP ultrawide camera has a 120-degree field of view, making it useful for landscapes, group shots, and indoor photos. The 32MP front camera is made for high-resolution selfies. The main camera can record video at up to 2K at 30 fps, and OIS helps keep videos steady when shooting by hand.
Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) moves the lens or sensor to reduce blur caused by hand movement. With 200MP and very small pixels, even small shakes can make it hard to see details. When there isn't much light, electronic stabilization might not be enough to keep photos and videos straight. OIS helps.

Triple IP Certification: IP66, IP68 and IP69 Explained

The Moto G Max 5G has three water-resistance certifications (IP66, IP68, and IP69) and meets MIL-STD-810H for military-grade durability. Each IP rating covers a different type of water exposure:
RatingWhat It CoversPractical Scenario
IP66Dust-tight + protection against high-pressure water jets from any directionRain, outdoor water spray, forceful rinsing under a tap
IP68Dust-tight + immersion in water up to 1.5m for 30 minutesAccidental drops into a pool, sink, bucket, or shallow water — the most common water-damage situation
IP69Dust-tight + resistance to high-pressure water jets at standard temperaturesPressure cleaning, hose-down use in outdoor, construction, or industrial environments
With all three certifications, the Moto G Max 5G has passed separate tests for each type of water exposure. IP68 alone does not protect against high-pressure jets, and IP66 does not cover submersion. Together, IP66, IP68, and IP69 protect the phone from most everyday water risks.
MIL-STD-810H means the phone has been tested for drops, vibration, temperature changes, and humidity. Gorilla Glass 7i protects the screen. For a mid-range phone, having Gorilla Glass 7i, triple IP certification, and MIL-STD-810H makes it very durable.
For daily use in India, IP68 is the most useful, as it protects against drops in pools, sinks, or puddles. IP69 covers high-pressure cleaning, like being hosed off outside, and IP66 protects against rain and water jets. With all three, the Moto G Max 5G is tested for almost every common water risk.

Moto G Max 5G Processor: Dimensity 6400 and Honest Assessment

This phone has a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chip (6nm) and a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. This 5G chip is less powerful than the Dimensity 7000, 8000, and 9000 models. It works well for everyday jobs like streaming, social media, and light gaming. The 6nm method helps keep the phone cool, but it can't handle very demanding 3D games.
The Dimensity 6400 is an entry-level to mid-range chip used in a number of low-cost phones in India. Other phones that cost around Rs. 47,000, like the OnePlus Nord 4 and the Xiaomi 14 Civi, have more powerful chips. Not the processor, but the camera, the bright AMOLED screen, and the triple IP rating make the Moto G Max 5G stand out. This is something that gamers should remember.
At about Rs. 47,000, the Dimensity 6400 is found in phones that aren't very expensive. In India, phones priced between 40,000 and 50,000 rupees usually feature Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 or Dimensity 8300 chips. The camera and sturdiness of the Moto G Max 5G make up for its high price, not its processor.

Battery: 5,200mAh With 33W Charging

The Moto G Max 5G has a 5,200mAh battery and can be charged via a 33W cable. This lasts for a full day of heavy use or up to 2.5 days for light users. Many rivals, on the other hand, offer charging speeds of 67W to 100W, which are faster than 33W. It takes about 100 to 120 minutes to charge from empty. It would be better if phones that have demanding cameras and screens could charge faster.
5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, and Five-System Navigation are all ways to connect.
The Moto G Max 5G has dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, and 5G and 4G LTE. Five satellite systems—GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and BeiDou—help it track your location more quickly and accurately, which is useful for geotagging and guidance. A USB Type-C port lets you charge your phone and move info between devices.

Moto G Max 5G Overall Assessment: Camera and Durability vs Chipset

Some of the best things about the Moto G Max 5G are its 200MP OIS camera, IP68, MIL-STD-810H, and Gorilla Glass 7i sturdiness, and its bright 5,000-nit 1.5K AMOLED screen. It has a basic chipset, so Motorola definitely put a lot of thought into the camera and durability for people who care about those things.
For Indian buyers looking for a 200MP OIS camera, a very bright display, and triple IP water resistance, the Moto G Max 5G could be a good option if the price is right. Its value will depend on the Indian launch price compared to other camera-focused mid-range phones.

Final Verdict

The Moto G Max 5G stands out because of its camera, durability, and screen. It has a 200MP OIS camera, a 5,000-nit 1.5K Super HD AMOLED display, and MIL-STD-810H approval for three IP ratings. One downside of the Dimensity 6400 chipset is that it costs Rs. 47,000, and Indian buyers usually expect a better processor at that price.
Motorola India hasn't said anything about the Moto G Max 5G yet. For now, you can only get the phone in Brazil. The price of Rs. 47,000 is just an exchange, not the real price in India. Keep an eye on Motorola India's website and social media for updates on a possible launch.
  • Bottom Line: Moto G Max 5G Brazil launch at BRL 2,519 (~Rs. 47,000). India TBC. FAQs

1. What is the Moto G Max 5G price in India?

Motorola India has not announced the Moto G Max 5G. The Brazil price is BRL 2,519.10, which converts to approximately Rs. 47,000 at current exchange rates. This is not a confirmed India price.

2. Does the Moto G Max 5G have OIS?

Yes. Optical Image Stabilization is built into the 200MP main camera with an aperture of f/1.8. OIS on a 200MP camera is impressive because it physically compensates for hand movement, reducing blur in fine-detail capture and making video more stable.

3. What is the display brightness of the Moto G Max 5G?

Up to 5,000 nits peak brightness on a 6.8-inch 1.5K Super HD AMOLED at 120Hz. 5,000 nits is achieved at peak under high ambient light detection. Sustained outdoor brightness will be lower but significantly above the 1,000 to 2,000-nit level that lower-brightness displays achieve.

4. What IP rating does the Moto G Max 5G have?

Three simultaneous certifications: IP66 (dust-tight and high-pressure water jets), IP68 (submersion to 1.5m for 30 minutes) and IP69 (high-pressure water jets at standard temperature). Together with MIL-STD-810H and Gorilla Glass 7i, the phone offers comprehensive durability coverage.

5. What chipset does the Moto G Max 5G have?

MediaTek Dimensity 6400 on a 6nm process with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The Dimensity 6400 is an entry-tier 5G chip suited for everyday tasks and light gaming. At the Rs. 47,000 Brazil-equivalent price, competing India-market phones in this price tier typically use stronger chips like the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 or the Dimensity 8300.

6. How fast does the Moto G Max 5G charge?

33W cable fast charging works on a 5,200mAh battery, and it takes about 100 to 120 minutes to fully charge from empty. When you compare it to other upper-middle-range phones that charge at 67W to 100W for about the same price, 33W is a pretty slow speed.

7. Does the Moto G Max 5G shoot 4K video?

No. The Moto G Max 5G records up to 2K at 30fps on the primary camera. 4K video recording is not listed in the specifications.

8. What is the 1.5K Super HD AMOLED display?

A 1272 by 2772 pixel AMOLED panel that sits between FHD Plus (1080p) and 2K (1440p) in resolution. At 6.8 inches this produces approximately 445 PPI, meaningfully sharper than FHD Plus at the same size. 1.5K is also used by OnePlus and Vivo for the same resolution tier.

9. What is the Gorilla Glass 7i on the Moto G Max 5G?

Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protects the front screen. It's Corning's newest mid-range Gorilla Glass version, and it's more resistant to drops than older Gorilla Glass 5 and 3 generations that are used on many phones in this price range.

10. Is the Moto G Max 5G available in India?

No. The Moto G Max 5G is currently available only in Brazil. Motorola India has not announced the phone. Watch motorola.com/in for any India launch communication.
